Zagreb was host of Cest is the best street festival. In one week, all over the Zagreb city one could find various kinds of art activities at the main streets, squares and parks… The festival was visited by more than 150.000 people.
Fish Forward team linked the project with Pimp my Pump artist group. In Zrinjevac park, in the city centre, they made graffiti with “Give fish a chance” slogan, and they pimped water pump in blue colour, explaing to poeple why they are doing that. While artist were doing graffiti, WWF volunteers were serving fried sardines and in that way engaging people to share FF messages on social media. People were asked to make a selfie in front of FF graffiti, share it on their Facebook profile using #FishForwardEU hashtag, and in exchange, they got free sardines! Sardines were wrapped in fake newspaper paper, it was actually an article about Fish Forward project and recommendation for sustainable sardine consumption. Flyers were distributed, calling people to take a selfie, visit FF graffiti and get free lunch! Fish Forward art session was announced in official program book of the festival, with more that 50.000 copies, and on official Cest is the best web page. Also, artists were promoting the action on their own Facebook profiles.
